Our Unique Silo Gazebos – A Vision Brought to Life

At Wildman Farm, we love transforming the old into something new while preserving its original character. When we purchased the property in September 2020, the idea of converting two grain silos into beautiful, functional gazebos was part of the vision from the very beginning. After years of planning, that vision became a reality in September 2023.

From Grain Silos to Unique Gathering Spaces

The first step was clearing out the remaining old grain, which we did by cutting out the silo bases before giving them a thorough power wash. Then came the real transformation!

  • Brent and our youngest Chris (a skilled boilermaker) welded and installed custom metal gazebo frames.
  • The original silos stood 6.6m tall - we kept their towering presence but adapted them to their new purpose.
  • Using a large scaffold and crane, the silos were lifted onto sturdy cement slab foundations, ensuring long-term stability.
  • We cut out doorways and windows, adding charm and functionality while maintaining the silos’ industrial aesthetic.
  • One silo retains its original cap, while the other is being fitted with a custom metal-framed skylight handcrafted by Brent, allowing natural light to flood the space.

A Unique Addition to Wildman Farm

Now, these stunning 12.5m² gazebos serve multiple purposes, adding charm and versatility to the farm’s event spaces.

🌾 Each silo is 4.4m in diameter, complete with power and lighting.
🌾 The front silo stands at 4.35m high, designed for an open and airy feel.
🌾 The rear silo is slightly taller at 5.22m, creating contrast and visual interest.
🌾 Perfect for intimate wedding ceremonies, comfortably seating up to 24 guests.
🌾 Ideal for a bar area, sheltered seating space, or an outdoor art/sculpture display.
