Forge

At Wildman Farm, we proudly feature a classic Coke forge, originally from Seppeltsfield and equipped with an old leather-bound air bellows from a century-old forge in southern Adelaide. This setup is complemented by recycled beams from within the barn.

Brenton, who has been volunteering and demonstrating blacksmithing at the Angaston Heritage Blacksmith Forge for over six years, has honed his skills in this historic craft. He expertly transforms red-hot metal into both functional and artistic pieces.

Interested in trying your hand at the traditional trade of blacksmithing? Our classes cover the essentials, including forge operation, metal heating, shaping, safety, hammer use, drawing out, twisting, cutting, and scrolling. These techniques form the foundation of most blacksmithing work.

We have space for up to two students per class, with beginner training sessions available soon.
